Description CREW LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Crew Leader is responsible for leading small to medium-sized crews in the safe, efficient setup and breakdown of tent structures, staging, temporary flooring, lighting, ground protection systems, and related event rental equipment. This position ensures installations are completed according to company standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. The Crew Leader works closely with Sales, Project Managers, and Operations to execute events on time and with a high level of quality and customer service. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Lead and supervise crew members in the setup and takedown of tents, stages, dance floors, lighting, tables, chairs, and related event rental equipment. Direct on-site loading and unloading of trucks and ensure accurate delivery of equipment to assigned job sites. Coordinate job execution with Project Managers and Sales to ensure proper planning and on-time completion. Enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including forklift operation and fall protection where required. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively. Interact professionally with clients on-site to ensure customer satisfaction and represent the company in a positive manner. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites during installation and breakdown. Inspect, clean, and maintain rental equipment to ensure operational readiness. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and extended shifts based on event schedules. Travel to various job sites as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position directly supervises event crew members on assigned job sites and is responsible for directing work, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. Work Environment This job operates in an outside job. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 55–70 pounds. Frequently stands, walks, bends, stoops, kneels, and climbs ladders. Uses hands and arms to handle, position, and secure equipment. Must be able to work extended hours and perform physically demanding tasks. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a seasonal, full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, with hours varies from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Days and hours of work vary based on event schedules. Evening, weekends, and overtime work are frequently required. Travel Local and regional travel to event sites is required. Occasional extended travel may be necessary depending on event assignments. Requirements Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Experience in the event rental, construction, staging, or related industry preferred. Experience in operating forklifts required. Preferred Education and Experience Bilingual- Spanish skills are a plus. Experience leading crews in outdoor installation environments. Ability to travel overnight a plus, but not required. Additional Eligibility Qualifications This position is for event installations that will primarily be performed in the Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia area; However, overnight travel outside this area may be requested, but is not required. Candidate will be required to report to our office/ warehouse in Walkersville, MD for each shift and travel in company vehicles to and from assigned jobs.
