Job Description Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plumber to join Service Stream’s fast-growing Utilities team.

Service Stream delivers end-to-end engineering and asset management services to leading utility and energy providers across Australia.

Due to existing and continued growth, Service Stream require a Plumber to help deliver an exciting new 7-year program!
With this comes an opportunity for experienced Plumber to join our Urban Utilities New Connections team at our Banyo QLD office
The Plumber will be responsible for Managing, Leading & Assisting a small crew & will be expected to carry out all duties associated with the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • QBCC Plumbing licence, at a minimum an Occupational Plumbing licence is required
  • Relevant competencies & tickets: Identify, locate, and protect underground services, Working in and around overhead powerlines, Manual Handling, Trench shoring & safety, Aqua & Brown card, White card, CPR & First aid
  • Drivers license C
  • Extensive water and sewer construction experience
  • A strong work ethic, in a hands-on role with the ability to take charge of a job
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Pride in quality & workmanship
  • Experience in dealing with the Public & Customers
  • Experience in completing all HSEQ documents
  • Experience in working with Traffic Management Plans
  • HEP A/ HEP B & Tetanus vaccinated
  • Plan reading & Surveying skills highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Water / Wastewater Networks experience within South East Queensland is highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Experience in installing water meters and new sewer connections is highly regarded but not mandatory

Key Accountabilities:

  • Efficient and orderly construction of each project
  • Supervision of labour/plant and material management
  • Interact daily with Supervisors, Engineers & Managers to provide assistance and technical support
  • Personnel management, set duties and instruct staff on work procedures and expected outcomes
  • Possess a high level of organisation skills to achieve weekly targets. Be effective with time management and be able to prioritise critical issues
  • Site Administration including reporting and recording of contract variations and completing labour time sheets for financial interpretation
  • Ensure requirements under the ‘Workplace Health and Safety Act’ are met
  • Ensuring quality standard are met

About you

  • Demonstrated success in supervising and leading civil construction teams
  • Knowledge of planning and programming works, completing look-ahead work programs.
  • Maintain productive relationships, clearly communicating with crews, management and other stakeholders
  • Plan, manage and leading multiple teams, ensuring satety management, quality compliance, resource efficiency and reporting requirements
  • Ensuring internal and subcontract resources are appropriately inducted, trained & licensed
  • Safety leadership including management and review of SWMS, permits, procedures, toolbox and daily prestart meetings
  • Reporting and monitoring of workplace hazards, risks, issues, and incidents through COMSAFE
  • Ensure all onsite activities comply with the relevant safety, quality and environmental requirements
  • Sound understanding of all Occupational Health and Safety procedures
