Description

CREW MEMBER – DOCK SERVICE

Hutten & Co. Land and Shore N4K 5N5

  • Located in Owen Sound – enjoy living and working in Ontario’s recreational hub
  • $18 - $21 / hour, commensurate with experience
  • Temporary contract September 15th - November 15th, 2025
  • Opportunity to work on award-winning projects, while achieving personal and career growth with a fantastic team

It’s not every day you come across an opportunity to work with a company you can feel good about – in a rewarding environment, working towards a clear and exciting vision, as part of an optimistic, hardworking, and high performing team.
And with your love of getting into the water, working outside, and putting in a solid physical effort, you’re made to be our new Crew Member in Dock Service.
From creative craftsmanship in stone and wood, delicate plantings, casual outdoor living, environmental shore solutions, and docking systems, at Hutten & Co. Land and Shore we create refreshing spaces that connect our rugged land and shores into a place of natural beauty. It’s not easy work, but the satisfaction is huge.
We love what we do and want like-minded people to join our team. So, if you’re looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your career, look no further.
As our new Crew Member you will be responsible for assisting the crew with quality workmanship, truck and trailer cleanliness and machinery, tool and small equipment care.

If you were working for us, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Operate chainsaw winch, drills and floating devices
  • Read and interpret installation manuals, site layout drawings, and contract specifications to perform work activities
  • Demonstrate shoreline stewardship with environmental best practices and technical knowledge
  • Install and remove aluminum pipe, floating and tower dock systems
  • Install boat lifts and marine rail systems
  • Perform service work as required, adjusting dock heights or alignment
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for installations
  • Transport materials with dollies, floating devices, and hand-lifting/carrying
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning

Success in this role will be about so much more than just quality dock service work completed efficiently. Just as importantly, it will be about making our customers happy by bringing their visions to life while contributing to our team’s growth and people-focused culture through growing in skills and professionalism.
This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to grow in their career, challenge themselves and take accountability, all while gaining technical experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are considering candidates from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Ideally, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Willingness to grow and learn
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • You’re prepared to work in waves, wind, cold and deep water (dry-suits provided!)
  • You’re prepared to work on difficult shoreline access, steep embankments
  • Comfortable with power tools and general math problems
  • Valid driver’s license

We strive to build a team of like-minded individuals who share our values and vision for the future, and look forward to seeing your application
