The Crew Planning Schedule Manager will be responsible for analyzing network schedules to determine crew impact (Pilot and Flight attendant) and develop recommendations in accordance with corporate objectives while also balancing commercial requirements and operational constraints.
The position will provide an effective and informative link between all teams in Crew Planning and Corporate Scheduling / Network planning. The individual will work collaboratively with various groups to identify opportunities, lead initiatives, and feed all information back to the relevant groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Airline experience, including operational and/or commercial knowledge or demonstrated interest in Airline business.
  • Experience dealing with schedules, or ability to learn.
  • Financial, analytical and planning skills.
  • Communication skills including the ability to resolve conflicts and obtain buy in.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups and quickly develop relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and short deadlines.
  • Ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Flexibility in adapting to new ideas/approaches and business processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Responsibilities
  • Primary contact for all communications between Crew Planning and the various Commercial Scheduling groups.
  • Organize and lead meetings by which commercial plans and opportunities are shared between Crew Resource business units and Corporate Scheduling, Network Optimization and Network Planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Crew Resources teams to ensure the schedule is in line with Business Planning and budgetary requirements.
  • Lead monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders to summarize latest schedules, provide feedback on initiatives, and identify impact and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the impacts of commercial schedule changes received and drive consensus on scenario decisions.
  • Develop a tracking matrix for schedule opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Crew Resource teams to design KPIs to track schedule opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations to Commercial group that would result in cost reductions or increased productivity for crews and feed all information back to Crew Planning teams.
  • Provide data and analytical support for the Scheduling and Planning processes.
  • Measure net change of commercial schedule over time and the effect to crew plans and cost.
  • Disseminate all schedules received and provide analysis on changes and impact to various teams within Crew Resources (Advance Planning, Pairings, PBS, Training, Hotels, etc.).
  • Conduct analysis on long range schedules to provide cost effective options on base balancing, language requirements, long range synthetic estimates, etc.
  • Review operational performance on pairings to provide feedback to operations and the crew pairings team.
  • Maintain seasonal list of Long Range Routes and scheduled block time to monitor performance, make recommendations on augment levels, accommodation needs etc.
  • Analyze scheduled departure, arrival and block times and make recommendations to Commercial teams for adjustments that could improve crew efficiencies and lower cost.
  • Work with Pairing managers to analyze aircraft rotations and provide recommendations on changes to hooks, string of routes/flights to improve productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives on long range schedules, with measured benefit to crewing/operation.
  • Monitor financial results, identifying anomalies, emergence of trends, opportunities as related to the schedule.
  • Manage ad hoc project work and presentations, providing relevant analysis and expertise as required.
  • Solve complex network problems by developing innovative solutions for the business.
  • Prepares in-depth cause and effect analysis on schedules.
