OVERVIEW

The Crewing Supervisor plays an integral role in supporting the Crewing Manager to ensure that the company’s vessels are adequately manned. The Crewing Supervisor will also bear the responsibility of managing the associated transport and accommodation requirements for a defined cluster of Company vessels and providing support to ensure life onboard meets the required standards.

Crewing Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of and management of the company’s crew.
  • Ensuring all company vessels are sufficiently crewed to enabled them to sail within specified country regulations.
  • Updating and ensuring crewing rota is accurate, up-to-date, and in-line with company specifications.
  • Proactively identifying crew travel arrangements including, but not limited to:
  • Flights;
  • Accommodations;
  • Transportation & vehicle hire;
  • Visas & travel documents; and
  • Making relevant bookings through approved and appropriate means.
  • Relaying travel information including letters, confirmations, and any other documents pertinent to the crew members’ upcoming travel arrangements.
  • Liaising with travel providers on matters related to crew movements including amendments, cancellations, refunds, etc. to ensure smooth travel processes.
  • Ensuring that all crew certifications and qualifications are kept up-to-date, and records are accurately maintained on Axisware.
  • Aiding the Crewing Manager with the recruitment of new crew members; providing recommendations and input on hiring processes/requirements.
  • Engaging in discussions with key stakeholders on crew pay levels, reviews, and welfare discussions.
  • Recruiting crew as needed – vetting certifications and CVs of applicants to ensure suitability and eligibility for advertised vacancies.
  • Ensuring the PO register is accurately updated, maintained and liaising with Finance for reconciliations.
  • Participating in crew pay negotiations and welfare discussions to ensure life onboard vessels is up to required standards.
  • Recording and documenting crew sizes for all PPE gear.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date databases of all next of kin and personal details form for all crew within the defined cluster.
  • Providing ad hoc support as required.
