Description

We are proud to be One Team at East Midlands Railway (EMR). We are passionate about keeping people safe, delighting our customers and doing the right thing. With over 2,600 employees, our people are the reason for our success. Our Crime and Security Team makes a crucial contribution to this, ensuring we keep our passengers and colleagues safe. Eight times accredited as a Top Employer, and Gold accredited for Inclusive Employers, we value our people and are dedicated to making sure that everybody feels empowered to bring their authentic self to work.
At EMR, we want to proactively embrace diversity across our workforce and recognise that we are under-represented in terms of females and ethnic minority groups. We’re therefore taking positive steps to promote a positive and inclusive culture; we welcome applications from those that identify with these groups to better represent our communities.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Crime & Fraud Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in investigating, analysing, and preventing fraudulent activity across the EMR network. Working closely with colleagues across the business and with third-party stakeholders, you’ll collect and interpret data to identify patterns, support investigations, and drive proactive fraud prevention strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor and investigate fraudulent activity within EMR.
  • Analyse intelligence received from internal departments or external sources and take appropriate action.
  • Support the delivery of fraud prevention initiatives and assist in achieving KPIs.
  • Collate, interpret, and present data related to fraud and revenue protection.
  • Deliver clear, accurate, and meaningful reports to management.
  • Build strong relationships with teams such as the Contact Centre and Prosecutions to share insights and data.
  • Conduct compliance checks and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide administrative support to the Fraud Investigation Manager and Head of Crime & Security.
  • Support team communications both internally and externally, including liaising with third-party stakeholders.
  • Help ensure all activities are aligned with EMR’s sustainability and environmental commitments.
You’ll be an experienced administrator with excellent organisational and analytical skills, confident in working with data to inform decision-making. You’ll be comfortable using Excel, Word, and Office 365, and capable of creating clear, insightful reports. A keen eye for detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Experience in auditing or knowledge of the Fraud Act 2006 would be a bonus, but not essential.
