IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Location Supervisor  GENERAL FUNCTION: The person occupying this position is to coordinate effective mental health treatment for clients as well as to understand and implement clinical criteria as dictated by Alliance Healthcare Services funding sources. This person has the responsibility for the clinical direction of activities performed in the programs under their supervision. The person occupying this position provides direct services to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis, participates in the delivery of crisis services to those individuals, and performs other responsibilities as assigned by senior staff.  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Performs clinical supervision of program staff.  QUALIFICATIONS; KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED TRAINING:  * Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Behavioral Health or related area with an independent license in his/her mental health discipline with experience working in a mental health setting.  * Ability to work effectively in a crisis service delivery setting dealing with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis.  * Ability to use mature judgment in problem resolution and to formulate appropriate crisis intervention strategies for Center clients.  * Must have knowledge of management and organization, and knowledge of the professional disciplines.  * This individual must have training and/or experience in the administration of mental health programs and demonstrated administrative and supervisory ability.  * The individual in this position has the ability to work with conflicting or competing demands or interests of clients, employees, sponsors in the distribution of work, evaluating work and good program effectiveness.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  1. Serves as a clinical team leader supervising and coordinating the service delivery activities of programs and staff under their supervision.  2. Transmits to all subordinate staff the mission, goals, and objectives of AHS as they are applicable to their programs.  3. Supervises clinicians and their clinical work; performs clinical and administrative supervision in groups and individually; reviews client-related data and judgments made there for accuracy and appropriateness; ensures that clients are clinically staffed and treated; reviews clinical dispositions and treatment of clients; chairs staff meetings to receive and disseminate clientrelated information. Personal effectiveness as a mental health professional.  4. Is familiar with existing Center contracts with external organizations, standards for performance,etc. and communicates such to other subordinate staff.  5. Performs mental health assessments on individuals experiencing a mental health crisis both in the Center and in the field, and makes a determination of an appropriate disposition for the individual assessed.  6. Arranges for admission to inpatient facilities, CSU, Crisis Respite, residential treatment facilities, etc. Completes required pre-certifications with the individual’s insurance company for these admissions.  7. Must be qualified through degree/license/training to perform Mandatory Prescreening Assessments, and completes a Certificate of Need for involuntary inpatient admissions.  8. Records caller and response information in the Center’s database.  9. To comply with policies and procedures as outlined in AHS’s policy and procedure manual.  10.
