Status: Temporary Full Time until March 31, 2026, with possibility of extension
Shift: Either Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30pm-7:30am or Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:30pm-7:30am
Location: Overnight Float for either the Burlington or Milton Shelters; shift will float between both shelters depending where the need is greatest that night. Excepting emergency needs, managers will make every attempt to assign shift location by 4:00pm each day. In exceptional emergency circumstances, this role may be asked to attend to work at the other shelter location at any time during the shift.

POSITION SUMMARY
Crisis Intervention Counsellors provide immediate crisis counselling and emotional and practical support to women and their children who are escaping domestic violence. This role also provides education, referral services, and advocacy to women and their children according to the mandate and policies of Halton Women’s Place. They are responsible to ensure the safe, healthy, and effective provision of safe shelter and crisis line/chat services.
