Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, Required. Must have graduated from an educational program by an approved Advanced Educational Institution as defined in the rules of North Carolina Office of Emergency Services (NCOEMS).
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a field Paramedic/Critical Care Paramedic with a recognized EMS pre-hospital or Specialty Care Transport Provider, Required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current driver’s license without restrictions, Required. Current EMT-P licensure, Required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Must have ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age, as well as health and developmental needs. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation . Must have operating knowledge and skill in VHF/UHF radio communications and ability to interpret county and state maps. Must have a current recognized emergency vehicle operations certification or successfully complete within 11 year. Clean driving record front he North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles must be submitted. Excellent customer service skills.
