QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in a related field required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in a related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Related Field preferred
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, technical training, or degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired: Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO) Certification.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of mission critical systems, including HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptable power supplies, computer room air conditioning/handling, associated infrastructure, and the interdependency of these systems in delivering 100% Uptime.
  • Know and understand all required critical environment management programs, policies, processes, and protocols geared toward achieving 100% uptime reliability.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) or Building Automation System (BAS) platforms.
  • Strong understanding of mission critical system operations, maintenance, engineering and design principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to assess the status of the building and its infrastructure systems, diagnose and troubleshoot alarms, solve technical problems and deal with a variety of options in varying situations.
  • Required on call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year
  • Ability to understand and interpret various design and construction documents relating to critical sites, spaces, and systems.
  • Work with design professionals or project management to keep record drawings updated as required.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office and email.
Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The Critical Facilities Engineer works with all major systems within a facility, such as electrical and HVAC systems. As a Critical Facilities Engineer, you will perform and manage regular maintenance on all critical infrastructure systems or contract out support from contractors as needed. Responsibilities include managing, monitoring, and maintaining all critical infrastructure systems in all facilities to include offices, warehouses, integration centers, and labs. Additionally, monitor and troubleshoot systems daily as problems and alarms arise. Duties require an understanding of safe work practices, which are set by OSHA. You will be working with building automation systems and coordinating with IT to integrate the systems. Building redundant backup systems and following LEED practices are also part of this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs mission critical infrastructure support.
  • Monitors, manages, maintains, and operates equipment to provide 100% uptime of the data centers, integration centers, and labs.
  • Monitors and manages repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery and controls located in the interior and exterior of building.
  • Monitors operations and conducts routine and on-going assessment of the building systems operations and performance.
  • Perform tests, rounds, and analyze data to ensure the proper functioning of all assigned equipment.
  • Oversees vendors/contractors in execution of annual OEM preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, manages, monitors, maintains and services continuous operation of all critical building infrastructure
  • On call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
