Overview The Emory Hillandale Hospital (EHH) Surgical Specialties Team is seeking to hire an Anesthetist - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) - to become a vital part of Emory Healthcare’s integrated academic healthcare system. Work Hours/Schedule: Full Time, rotating schedule with nights, weekends. Require participation in the Call Team. Experience: General or OB Anesthesia care experience highly preferred. Emory Hillandale Hospital (EHH), a sister hospital of EDH, located on the east side of Atlanta. EHH offers a unique, smaller hospital setting characterized by a family feel. EHH specializes in general cases, orthopedic procedures, GI, occasional vascular and podiatry surgeries. EHH operates with 3-4 rooms a day. Role of Anesthetists at EDH and EHH: Within EDH & EHH, our dedicated team of Anesthetists plays a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout a broad spectrum of surgical procedures. These procedures encompass various specialties, including Orthopedic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, ENT Surgery, General Abdominal Surgery, Obstetric and Gynecological Procedures, Vascular Surgery, Outpatient Gastrointestinal (GI) Procedures, as well as Labor and Delivery. Anesthesia Care Team Model: At all Emory Healthcare sites our CAAs, CRNAs and MDs collaborate within the Anesthesia Care Team model ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our patients. Description Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients. Performs initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician; Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist. Interprets and records patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data. Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist. Establishes multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, central venous pressure, arterial blood gas determinations, hematocrits, and routine measurement of temperature, respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate. Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use. Manages pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program. Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia. Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA). Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs). BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) required. ACLS (AHA) may be required for some locations and/or services. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
