Practice Environment: Location: St. Joseph's Medical Center – Stockton, CA 8-room main OR cath lab, endo 355-bed regional medical center (CommonSpirit Hospital System) The Anesthesiology department is diverse, consisting of 14 physicians, over 30 independent-practice CRNAs, and 24 Residents (8-10 daily on site) providing services for up to 16 anesthetizing locations daily to include acute care ORs, cardiac ORs, obstetrics, GI/endo, cath lab, interventional radiology, a hospital ambulatory surgery center, and a new venture with a local orthopedics surgery center. The annual anesthesia case volume is approx. 14,300 cases, consisting of ~ 9,000 surgical cases, 800 cardiac cases, and 2,000 out-of-OR cases in GI, EP lab/Cath Lab, and interventional radiology. OB services with 3,000 births annually Participation in call is expected (24 hours in-house, 24 hours OB) - Must be within 30 minutes of the facility. CRNAs practice to their full scope of practice and perform regional anesthesia, arterial lines, and central lines 8- or 12-hour shifts and call shifts are available, with scheduling flexibility to match your lifestyle. Post-call day off after first call Collaborative MD/CRNA model Locations: St. Joseph’s Surgery Center: 5-room OR (general, GYN, urology, pain procedures, healthy peds dental and ENT, endo) St. Joseph's Medical Center: 8-room main OR (cath lab, endo) This is a unique practice where CRNAs and MDs work independently in an academic environment with an anesthesiology residency program. Participation in call, which requires being within 30 minutes of the facility, is expected for both 24-hour in-house and 24-hour OB coverage.
