Reporting to the Crude Oil Marketing Manager, the Crude Oil Analyst will be responsible for providing detailed market analysis, supporting commercial strategy, and delivering key insights on crude oil pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and transportation trends. This role plays a critical part in optimizing trading decisions and enhancing the company’s competitive position in the North American crude oil market.

  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts (Monday – Friday)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Monitor and analyze crude oil markets , including price trends, regional supply and demand fundamentals, refinery activity, and geopolitical developments affecting global and North American markets
  • Develop and maintain market models and dashboards to support trading, logistics, and strategic decision-making across the Marketing team
  • Track and evaluate pipeline and rail logistics, storage trends, and infrastructure developments impacting crude oil flows and regional pricing differentials
  • Provide support to logistics by monitoring and tracking trucking movements and other duties as required
  • Track and publish monthly crude oil pricing indices
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports, presentations, and forecasts for internal stakeholders, including commercial teams and senior leadership
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • A Degree in Business, Economics, or Engineering with a minimum of one year / internship of marketing experience within a crude oil marketing environment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and market trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Strong communication, organizational and team skills complemented with strong work ethics are required
  • A keen interest in energy markets and a willingness to learn about crude oil fundamentals, pricing, and logistics
