ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Cruise Director, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have a safe and informative sailing to K’gari, one of Australia’s most iconic destinations. You will also ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, vehicles and cargo.
Other duties for the role are providing onboard café and refreshment service. Coordinating the validating and counting boarding passes, assisting in fuelling and general cleaning of the vessel.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a broad range of people and provide customer service excellence to guests during their transit experience.
We encourage candidates with previous Cruise Director / Deckhand experience gained on a commercial vehicular and passenger vessel to apply. You must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work unsupervised and make decisions within set guidelines.

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Manage and maintain the vessel’s supplies, equipment, and tools, ensuring timely stocking, rotation, and replacement.
• Perform scheduled and general ship maintenance duties, including painting, deck work, and general labour.
• Proactively report, manage and complete deck maintenance requirements.
• Assist with safe mooring operations and loading/unloading of passengers and supplies.
• Assist other crew members in cleaning and presenting the vessel, including public areas, decks, storage and engine spaces, onshore facilities, and between sailings.
• Participate in formal and informal training as needed to improve skills and knowledge.
• Ensure the highest levels of customer service standards are maintained at all times.
• Foster customer engagement by actively seeking feedback and implementing improvements to enhance the customer experience.
