Job Description The Senior Consultant, Portfolio & Program Management is a key operations leader within Visa University, responsible for overseeing the operational delivery, governance, and process excellence for the portfolio of learning and talent development initiatives for Client Services. This senior individual contributor manages all learning governance processes—including intake, prioritization, roadmap management, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs)—and ensures effective tracking and reporting across the portfolio. The Senior Manager partners with Learning Partners, Learning Experience Design, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned to best practices. This role also manages third-party vendor relationships for contingent project management resources and drives continuous improvement in delivery operations. Responsibilities: Oversee the operational delivery and tracking of the learning/talent project portfolio for Client Services, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all initiatives. Create and lead learning governance activities, including portfolio intake, project/program prioritization, roadmap management, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and related processes. Develop, maintain, and communicate the portfolio roadmap to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives and transparency for stakeholders. Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing contingent project management resources; oversee vendor selection, onboarding, performance, and issue resolution. Establish and maintain portfolio and program management processes, standards, and tools to drive consistency, operational excellence, and transparency for Client Services initiatives. Partner with internal teams (Learning Partners, LXD, HR, etc.) to coordinate project execution, resolve dependencies, and escalate risks or issues as needed. Create, maintain and update portfolio dashboards, status reports, roadmaps, and operational metrics for leadership visibility and decision-making. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and scalability within portfolio management operations. Support the implementation of change management initiatives related to new tools, processes, or ways of working. Monitor, track, and report on project milestones, budgets, and resource utilization. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security, and regulatory requirements. Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in program operations. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications: 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD 7-9 years of progressive experience in program, project, or portfolio management in a global corporate environment. Demonstrated experience overseeing the execution and tracking of multiple, complex projects or portfolios. Proven success managing governance processes such as intake, prioritization, roadmap development/management, and business reviews. Experience managing third-party vendors or contingent workforce providers, including onboarding, performance management, and issue escalation. Proficient in portfolio/program management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Clarity, Tableau, Power BI). Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver operational and governance reports for leadership. Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or a related field.
