Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Management of the Civil, Structural, and Architectural packages under your control, reporting to the CSA Manager.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Project Manager, CSA Manager and the Mercury Safety Advisor. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the safety file as part of the Management team.
  • Management of QA in conjunction with Mercury QA Manager including set up, management and close out of file. Responsible for making sure the subcontractor follows Mercury QA/QC procedures or escalation on time. Responsible for performing due diligence on Supervisors checklists and make sure it is up to standard. Promotion of the Mercury engineering ethos regarding quality and safety, especially BER 2 Campus working procedures.
  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Mercury CSA Manager, Project manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements. Responsible for making sure the subcontractor submits their program and meets/exceeds baseline program or escalation on time.
  • Report on a weekly basis, any site events that have a commercial impact to the project: deviations, variations, delays to the CSA Manager to ensure all costs are captured and claimed, if applicable.
  • Assist with the Management of all design deliverables related to the CSA package. Review drawings, technical submissions, assistance, and preparation as required of mark-ups to highlight deficiencies and orientate subcontractors and subconsultants. Review of construction details and setting out details. Responsible to maintain the link between design information and construction drawings, making sure any gaps are correctly identified and produced prior starting on site.
  • Assist with the management of all costs associated with your package including:
  • Mercury civil Team
  • Sub-contractors
  • Material deliveries and goods receipting.
  • Plant and Equipment
  • Variations
  • Valuations
  • Management of all day-to-day site operations, including the Mercury CSA site supervision team. Management of site coordination between CSA subcontractors and interfaces. Attendance to site coordination meetings as representative.
  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and staffing levels levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minuted meeting with sub-contractor, tracking the following topics: EHS, Design submissions, Procurement, Site Coordination, Quality Control, Construction Progress / Program, Commercial, Close out, AOB.
  • Management of the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system ensuring that the supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable. Ensure all snags are distributed to all Sub-contractors.
  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
  • Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the support of the site project manager and your project team.
  • Issue weekly reports. This will include all orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels. Responsible for the reporting of the internal weekly progress report to CSA Manager and Planner. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of Mercury, e.g: late deliveries, as well as areas not available, delays, shortage of design, and third party hold ups.
  • Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule. Track critical deliveries procured or not by Mercury/subcontractor.
  • Ensure Mercury Policies and procedures are followed closely.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary and due diligence on Supervisors diaries and photo records.
  • Assist with the preparation Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS.
  • Assist with the Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for technical compliance with design intent specifications.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

  • An engineering qualification or Construction Management qualification
  • 5-7 years relevant experiences
  • Good Computer skills in word, excel etc.
  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
