QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. Minimum 1-2 years construction estimating, engineering or similar experience.
  • Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is essential.
  • General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).

Responsibilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per manhour, equipment, etc.
  • Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
  • Participate in developing project update and bid package estimate documents.
  • Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
