Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Floor Supervisor Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager Department: Cut & Sew FLSA Status: Hourly Summary: Work to coordinate and monitor the efficient and timely scheduling and completion of production, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager and scheduling for production conflicts with recommendations for problem solving. Essential Duties Supervise employees to ensure that all production items are manufactured to specified quality standards. Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment verifying that production and safety issues are addressed. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly facility in compliance with OSHA requirements and safety committee regulations. Requires consistent communication. Ensure timely submission of 90 day and annual evaluations for employees. Follow the agency attendance policy. Follow supervisor’s instructions. Responsible for overseeing the annual inventory. Oversee one-on-one direct training is provided by Assistant Floor Supervisors to increase designated operator’s efficiency and quality standards assigned by management. Develop production techniques and work aids to increase operator’s efficiency and quality standards. Develop routing and process steps in conjunction with Q.C. personnel on all new projects or existing product modifications to ensure best method of development and quality results. Assist the Director of Manufacturing and Manufacturing Manager in the research and development of new projects. Maintain and enforce open communication between all Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, and Manufacturing Manager and in their absence Director of Manufacturing. May be required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. Requirements Qualifications Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately. Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds. Ability to establish effective working relationships. Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workload. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office product. (computer literate) Accepts responsibility and demonstrates leadership. Is able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Trustworthy- Able to keep business confidences as required. Open minded- Willing to embrace change. Education and or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience in needle trades manufacturing processes required. Previous experience in supervisory and leadership roles preferred. Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: CPR/First Aid Physical Demands The position requires employees to alternate from a sitting to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required.
