Description
The opportunity Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT. The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms. The role The DDG Modernisation program will incorporate Aegis Baseline 9, the Australian Interface, and the Tomahawk Weapon System onto the DDG platform. The succeeding verification program of these systems will encompass installation, set-to-work, harbour, and sea Acceptance test phases. The DDG CSI Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer will contribute to the delivery of the team outputs such as test planning, sequencing, asset coordination and execution for designated Acceptance tests, including quality control over activation tests to ensure they meet their requirements and are fit for purpose. In addition they will be part of the team responsible for preparation and execution of System Readiness Reviews (SRR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and Verification Review Boards (VRB), as well as providing support to materiel readiness through Material Review Boards (MRB). Further, the successful candidate will: Develop and deliver relevant CDRLs such as V&V Plan, Acceptance Test Plans, Verification Cross-Reference Matrices, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Acceptance Test Reports Provide an advanced level of advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders on V&V governance, test planning, test sequencing, and test execution Represent CSI-IPT and engage with stakeholders at working groups involving management and customers Manage the closure of working group actions with key stakeholders Liaise with other stakeholders such as Platform Integration (PI) and Platform Ship Designer (PSD) to deconflict test schedules, support the development of integrated schedules and provision CS production requirements to support verification Liaise with the FMS Case Manager to ensure all necessary GFx related to V&V is identified and provided IAW with need dates specified in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) Identify and assist managing technical risks, ensuring testing and evidence provided under test meets all statutory and regulatory requirements. Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role. About you Your skills and experience will include: At least 8 years in systems engineering, with significant experience in complex systems, military systems, and software intensive systems Tertiary qualification(s) in a systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, etc.), and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry) Relevant professional certifications in systems engineering or related fields such as Engineers Australia (CPEng) or INCOSE (ASEP, CSEP or ESEP) (desirable) Proficient understanding of systems engineering principles and practices Proficient knowledge in complex systems and their integration (military systems are highly desirable) Proficient understanding of systems engineering in an ASDEFCON context Proficiency in using software tools (e.g. DOORS, Came Systems Modeler, Cradle, etc.) Systems integration, testing, and validation Proven ability to mentor engineering teams Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
