CSO CONSTRUCTION SAFETY OFFICER

RJS Construction Ltd. We are a GENERAL CONTRACTOR in the Lower Mainland seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Officer to join our growing team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment. Our office is in Surrey, and project locations are from Abbotsford to Vancouver.

Type and Size of Projects:
Commercial, Light industrial, Institutional Small to medium projects- $50,000-15,000,000 Interior, warehouse, office, envelope, seismic, and structural renovations.
Description: Promoting and maintaining a culture of safety and well-being in the workplace. Educate and increase the safety awareness of all workers and trades. This role will inspect, evaluate, develop, implement, report, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Inspect workplaces to ensure equipment, materials, and production processes are safe for employees and the public. Evaluate, develop,and implement health and safety programs. Record all incidents and maintain accurate data and documentation. Provide site orientations for workers and visitors. Conduct Toolbox and site safety meetings. Administer First Aid to site personnel as required. Help with minor site duties as needed.
Must Have Qualifications: Proven minimum experience of 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites. Previous experience working with different trades. OFA level 2 or 3 certified Sound knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations in B.C. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills Ability to present, explain, and enforce health and safety policies. Computer proficient Be a hard-working, safety minded, organized, team player. Be a proactive problem-solver. Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
