Summary The CSS Inventory & System Coordinator is responsible for maintaining proper inventory of the Hanel system in coordination with SPM. Other duties will be the coordination of instrumentation as they relate to the perioperative service lines needs. The role is needed to maintain inventory accuracy in surgical trays and instrumentation management. Responsibilities Communicates with OR leadership and CSS leadership on the needs for instrumentation and trays. Coordinates quotes and purchases of such needs and once received, will be responsible to assure the new instruments/trays are properly labelled and placed in their correct service. Reports broken instrumentation to service line leads. Works with on-site instrument repair company on the replacement or preventative maintenance of instruments and trays. Work with instrument vendors in maintain accuracy of count sheets and the information within are correct and up to date. In coordination with IT, works with representative of inventory software's to oversee upgrades with no disruption to day to day operations. Manage, develop and maintain all statistical and operational information pertaining to storage and retrieval systems. Maintains the Hansel and SPM system inventory and ensures are up to date. Works as a technical resource and with IT in troubleshooting systems problems. In addition, provides assistance to systems users in problem solving any issues that shall arise. Continuously looks for ways to improve systems management and works with OR and CSS leadership to seek opportunities for improvement and cost effectiveness. Assist IT in ensuring data integrity, security and patient privacy. Provides input on a downtime process in the event of a systems failure or scheduled maintenance. Provide unit productivity statistic report and any deviation in the management of inventory, not limited to any systems statistic report as needed per request. Trains new staff and coordinates specialized training to a new supers user assigned to a specified system. Performs all other related job duties as assigned. Experience Generally requires 3 to five years of related experience. Education Associate's degree in related field is required. Skill Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Credentials Valid Sterile Processing Technician Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM is required. Incumbents hired before November 20, 2019 must complete obtain the required certification by April 30, 2021.
