ABOUT THE JOB CSSD TECHNICIAN
City University Ajman is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to join our dentistry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, maintenance, and distribution of dental instruments and equipment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of dental services within a dynamic academic environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors and Diploma or certification in Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CSSD Technician in a dentistry or dental healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with sterilization equipment, instrument handling, and dental supply management.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and patient safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing dental instruments following established protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and washer disinfectors, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Inspect, assemble, and package dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are free of contaminants and meet sterilization requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, instrument usage, and inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment of supplies.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control measures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of sterilization machines, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer guidelines for the handling and storage of sterile instruments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of sterilization protocols, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on the latest sterilization techniques and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure the availability of sterile instruments and equipment for dental procedures.
- Monitor and enforce quality assurance measures to maintain high standards in sterilization and infection control.
- Dispose of biohazardous materials safely and in accordance with environmental and health regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation of sterilization cycles, audits, and risk management procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to workplace safety guidelines.
- Provide support in emergency situations requiring immediate sterilization and preparation of dental instruments.
