Job Summary The CT/MRI Technologist – Registered is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) technology. The technologist ensures patient safety, verifies procedure information, and communicates effectively with patients and physicians. This role adheres to department protocols, maintains equipment, and supports daily operations within Imaging Services. Must maintain clinical competency and meet continuing education and safety training requirements. Essential Functions Performs MRI and CT scans following established protocols and physician orders. Reviews imaging for diagnostic quality and accuracy. Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout procedures. Prepares exam rooms, maintains cleanliness, and stocks necessary supplies. Explains procedures clearly to patients and verifies informed consent. Positions patients appropriately and operates imaging equipment with precision. Enters accurate data and scan sequences into imaging systems. Communicates with radiologists and referring physicians as needed. Participates in on-call coverage, staff meetings, and continuing education. Monitors patients during exams and reports unusual symptoms to physicians. Follows MRI safety protocols and completes annual MRI safety training. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Proficient in the operation of MRI and CT equipment. Strong understanding of anatomy, imaging protocols, and patient care. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety standards. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to calm and reassure patients. Capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with PACS, teleradiology systems, and electronic health records Education Postsecondary (certificate/diploma/program graduate) from an accredited program of radiologic technology (required) Licenses/Certifications ARRT Radiography Certification upon hire (required) Advanced certification in MRI and/or CT upon hire (preferred) BCLS – Basic Life Support upon hire or within facility-specified timeframe (required) Experience Two (2) or more years of MRI experience (preferred) Prior experience with CT imaging and radiographic procedures (preferred)
