Description
We are searching for a CT Advanced Specialist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will use technical, leadership, educational, quality, and regulatory knowledge to organize the activities for timely and high-quality delivery of patient care during routine and complex exam completion. The Advanced Specialist must think critically, use independent, professional, and ethical judgment in all aspects of their work, and they must engage in continuing education to include their area of practice to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge, and technical competence. They are responsible for patient care, appropriate documentation, quality control, and quality improvement, and they provide training, education and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing, residents, fellows, staff, and others. Qualifications: CT-ARRT from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or CT-NMTCB from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board required CMRT from the Texas Medical Board required R-ARRT from the American Registry of Radiology Technologists preferred 6 years specialized CT experience required A bachelor’s degree in any radiology or healthcare field of study may substitute for one year of the required experience A master’s degree in any radiology or healthcare field of study may substitute for two years of the required experience Responsibilities: Supervises Routine and Specialized examinations, assigns tasks, and inspects completed work to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, institutional, and departmental standards, rules, and laws Strict adherence to Joint Commission or other standards and initiatives and to applicable federal and state guidelines, licensures, and policies Responsible for training, and development of staff and students on all new policies, procedures, SOPs Responsible for precise, complete, and accurate data entry and image management in appropriate technology infrastructure: EPIC, PACS, etc. Ensures clinical research patients are treated with same procedural respect and standards as clinical procedures Elicits confidence and cooperation from the patient, public and other healthcare providers by providing timely communication and effective instruction Works independently and assists team in completing routine and complex portable, STAT, urgent, on-call and potentially CT cases, while demonstrating understanding of anatomy and pathology through proper imaging techniques Coaches, mentors, and teaches procedures and instrumentation, with enthusiasm, to students, new hires, residents, fellows, staff, patients, or family members
Responsibilities
The Advanced Specialist supervises routine and specialized examinations, ensuring compliance with standards and training staff and students on new policies. They also manage data entry and image management while providing high-quality patient care.
