The CT Technologist assist physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors. CT Technologist Responsibilities: * Performs a variety of CT exams related to the field, including invasive procedures and IV insertion. * Explain the procedure to the patient. * Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease. * Administer prescribed contrast media according to established guidelines. * Assist in interventional CT exams. CT Technologist Education and Experience Requirements: * Completed two years of an approved Radiological Technology Program required. * Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists required. * A current license in the State of Connecticut is required. * CT Registered and an active State of Connecticut CT License is required. * Maintaining appropriate CEU's to meet ARRT guidelines is required. * CPR - Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required. * Approved contrast injection training according to the D.I. Medical Director is required. * Minimum of 1-year practical experience performing related duties as a CT technologist including IV insertion is preferred. CT Technologist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Computer skills: Mainframe system entry, Teleradiology system. * High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
