Job Title: CT Technologist Department: CAT Scan Unit Reports To: Director, Diagnostic Imaging Supervised By: Radiologist **$10,000 Sign-on Bonus!!** Location: TriHealth Clinton Regional Hospital Work Hours: Full-time position: 72 hours bi-weekly Weekends - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - 11am-1130pm Job Overview: Performs a variety of Computed Tomography (CT) procedures while observing patient safety protocols. Obtains accurate patient history, patient positioning, technique, processing using CT and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) equipment and communicating with Radiologist and support staff. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Job Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate of an approved school of Radiology Sciences with certification in diagnostic radiography State of Ohio Radiologic License in Radiographer category Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with secondary certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R)(CT) (ARRT)] Experience: 1 year of CT Technologist experience preferred Job Responsibilities: Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure. Responsible for safe handling of equipment. Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations. Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations. Assesses patients’ understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures. Assesses, evaluates, and informs physician of changes in patient’s condition during exam. Works under the direction of the Radiologist. Selects appropriate equipment for use for procedures. Determines the most suitable anatomical posture/positions and shields patients accordingly. Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination, documents and deviation. Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams. Performs all qualify control checks and maintains accurate Quality Control (QC) logs as prescribed. Sends all information to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) efficiently and effectively. Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures. Assists in maintaining basic records, reports, and files. Works required Holiday(s). Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel. Takes CT call according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours. Interacts professionally with patients and family. Keeps current with local fire and safety regulations. Possesses knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments. Practices continuing Infection Control with proper equipment and all patients, at all times. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations related to the Radiology Services Department and facility. Wears identification and dosimeter while on duty. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and clerical responsibilities, as needed.
