Position Overview the CTO – Mobile Applications will play a critical role in defining and driving the overall mobile technology vision for the company. This executive will lead engineering teams responsible for our iOS and Android applications, oversee mobile product architecture, and align technology with the broader business strategy. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CTO will shape the future of digital travel experiences by delivering scalable, secure, and high performance mobile platforms. Key Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy Define and lead the end-to-end mobile technology strategy aligned with business goals. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on technology decisions, innovation, and risk. Evaluate emerging technologies and ensure our mobile stack remains cutting-edge and competitive. Product & Architecture Oversight Own the architecture, scalability, and security of all mobile applications. Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. Champion a seamless, cross-platform strategy while optimizing native performance (iOS/Android) Team Development & Culture Build, lead, and mentor world-class mobile engineering and technology teams. • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, experimentation, and innovation. Attract top engineering talent and establish a high-performance engineering organization. Execution & Delivery Oversee technical execution, ensuring timely delivery of mobile features and updates. Implement engineering best practices including CI/CD, test automation, observability, and DevOps. Own the operational health of the mobile platform, ensuring uptime, reliability, and performance. Business Partnership Translate technical capabilities into business impact, drive growth and retention through mobile innovation. Lead build vs. buy decisions with a strong understanding of ROI, scalability, and long-term value. Ensure technology supports global expansion, localization, payments, and compliance standards (GDPR, PCI, etc.). Qualifications Required: 12+ years of engineering experience, with significant leadership in mobile application development. 5+ years in a CTO or VP-level technology role, ideally in consumer-facing or travel-related industries. Proven track record of delivering and scaling native mobile applications (Swift, Kotlin, React Native, or Flutter). Deep understanding of mobile architecture, APIs, performance optimization, and app store ecosystems. Strong leadership, people management, and organizational development skills. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Preferred: Experience at a high-growth startup or digital-first travel/e-commerce company. Background in data-driven product development, personalization, and mobile analytics. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, backend-for-frontend strategies, and mobile CI/CD. Experience building apps with internationalization, payments, and offline capabilities
