Description

Position Description: Perform various duties to assist in the day to day operations of the packaging production line, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees. Primary Responsibilities: * Performs all duties and requirements in a safe and orderly manner * Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations * Required to maintain rate of the packaging line operation being performed * Moves, stores and stacks materials and products by hand or with material handling equipment * Adjusts and monitors equipment, advising lead person of irregularities * Identifies line needs due to packaging/product quality and confers needs with lead person * Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed * Train hourly employees on various functions like palletizers, box machines, and forklift as needed Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not Applicable Requirements: * Basic English * Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) * Able to communicate effectively orally, bilingual preferred * Able to work variable shifts; overtime and weekends as needed * Able to work in a team environment Physical Requirements: * Able to lift in excess of 75 pounds on a consistent basis * Able to tolerate extreme temperatures (heat/cold) * Able to tolerate heights * Standing/walking 100% of the workday * Twist, bend and stoop approx. 5% of the workday Training Period: * 1 - 3 months meeting all above requirements This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities
