Description We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Culinary Aide to join our dietary services team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation, portioning, and service of meals to residents. You’ll help ensure that every meal is not only nutritious and properly prepared but also served in an appealing and timely manner — all while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and/or pre-portion food and beverages for meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements and planned menus Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and in an appetizing presentation Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in compliance with infection control protocols Assist with dishwashing and proper storage of kitchen items and equipment Record and monitor food and equipment temperatures and report any discrepancies Support in receiving, labeling, and storing food supplies Assist with meal service delivery in a professional and courteous manner Cooperate and communicate effectively with team members and other departments Interact respectfully and positively with residents, family members, and visitors Qualifications: Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong communication and teamwork skills Detail-oriented with a commitment to cleanliness and safety Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Prior experience in food service, healthcare, or hospitality is preferred but not required Requirements: Must pass a background check as required by state regulations prior to resident contact Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role Why Join Cascadia Healthcare? Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Licenses/Certification Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations. NOTE: Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power-driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position. Experience Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred. Experience in food service is desired.
