Description
Company Description The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Culinary Head Chef (m/f/d) The Hoxton took on Berlin in 2023, and now we’re on the hunt for an experienced Culinary Head Chef to lead our kitchen with creativity, flair and a hands-on spirit. Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor meeting & event space, TeaHouse, Lobby Bar & Restaurant, a street side terrace and our meeting and events space “The Apartment” on the 7th floor. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for managing all culinary employees and back of house Food & Beverage spaces as well as the menu creation across all venues while driving the business to achieve the budgeted KPI’s. More about us... The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Job Description What you’ll do… Lead and inspire our international culinary team across Lobby Bar & Restaurant, Teahouse, and our buzzing event spaces. Craft exciting, high-quality menus that balance creativity with brand integrity. Keep a close eye on the numbers – managing budgets, food & labour costs, and driving efficiencies without compromising on quality. Run smooth daily operations, making sure service flows and standards stay sky-high. Manage ordering and inventory smartly, keeping stock levels in check and waste to a minimum. Be a coach and mentor – nurturing talent and creating an environment where your team can shine. Working close together with our event sales team creating outstanding offerings for our guests. Qualifications What we are looking for… A proven kitchen leader – ideally 2+ years as Banquet Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high-volume, multi-venue setting. Strong background in Meetings & Events and a confident communicator in German and English – any other language would be a nice add-on. A passion for diverse cuisines and innovative techniques, paired with solid cost and H&S management. Someone who’s creative, hands-on, and loves to push boundaries while keeping it fun and authentic. Managing the H&S within the kitchen spaces and all food handling, as well health code standards You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in chef whites here. Passion for hospitality – you’re all about creating memorable experiences for others, be they guests or colleagues. You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done. You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once. You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way. Additional Information What’s in it for you… A competitive salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary bonus scheme. The opportunity to bring an exciting new hospitality concept to Berlin (and Germany) and join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that’s committed to not just building new hotels but building a global brand. 28 holidays (plus bank holidays) and extra time off to volunteer with one of our partner charities. The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding. Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you first start with us. Goes without saying, but we’ll support your meals when on shift with our Pluxee Benefit Card and Pluxee Food Vouchers. Great discounts across the entire Ennismore family. Lots of opportunity to progress and switch it up as part of a global family of brands. Regular team get togethers, from our team drinks to our (pretty special!) bi-annual parties – we know how to have a good time! An annual diversity and inclusion calendar of events creating opportunities for you to learn, celebrate and make a positive impact. Get in touch with experts from OpenUp to balance work and life or any other mental-wellbeing related topic. Enjoy lots of Discounts through our Corporate Benefits Discount webpage. Learn and grow with our Ennismore Learning platform and its +6.000 training opportunities BVG Public Transportation Ticket on us!
