Laurel Technical Institute is now accepting applications for the position of a Culinary Instructor. The position is full-time position - Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30 pm.
Previous teaching experience is preferred. The instructor collaborates with management on the innovative design of a culinary training program.

Requirements:

  • 3 years culinary experience
  • Proven experience as a culinary instructor or chef.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.
  • Positive attitude and passion for sharing culinary knowledge and skills with others.
  • Familiarity with different cooking styles and techniques

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop culinary courses and curriculums that are engaging and meet the needs of students.
  • Provide feedback and critique to students on their cooking skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrate proper cooking techniques and methods, emphasizing safety procedures.
  • Teach and mentor students in all aspects of cooking, including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and pastry making.
  • Offer guidance and support to students as they develop their own approaches to cooking and meal planning.
  • Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Evaluate student performance and progress and maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and participation.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and culinary professionals to develop best practices and stay up-to-date on culinary trends and innovations.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
