JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a vibrant and experienced After School Cooking Instructor to inspire and educate our high school students who have a passion for culinary arts. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, innovation, and creativity to the kitchen, making each session a memorable experience for the students.

ESSENTIAL TRAITS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in culinary arts with a strong background in a wide array of cooking techniques.
  • Previous experience working with high school students in an instructional capacity.
  • Must possess their own cooking supplies and equipment suitable for class instruction.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with young adults.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to make learning fun and engaging.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage class schedules, ingredients, and meal planning.
  • Familiarity with various dietary restrictions and global cuisines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs and interests of students.
  • Certification or degree in culinary arts is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Provide a diverse range of culinary knowledge, from basic cooking techniques to more advanced culinary skills.
  • Manage class dynamics and ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
  • Bring personal cooking supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and safe for student use.
  • Adapt lessons to cater to different dietary restrictions and preferences while educating students on nutrition and healthy eating habits.
  • Collaborate with school administration to plan and schedule classes, workshops, or special cooking events.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay updated on current culinary trends, techniques, and best practices to keep the curriculum fresh and engaging.
