IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD POSSESS SOME OR ALL THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current enrollment in a Culinary Arts program or equivalent.
  • A strong passion for cooking and food preparation, with a desire to learn in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexible and willing to take on various kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
  • Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of hot and cold dishes, following established recipes and kitchen procedures.
  • Support the kitchen staff in the daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients and supplies to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including all equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Assist in the plating and garnishing of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant’s presentation standards.
  • Observe and assist with food safety, sanitation standards, and health regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Help prepare ingredients for cooking and assist with food prep tasks, including chopping, slicing, and mixing.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors when stock levels are low.
  • Learn and execute basic cooking techniques and methods under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
  • Participate in kitchen team meetings and provide feedback on processes or improvements for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide excellent service and support during peak service times.
