Runnymede LTC Home, a 200-bed long-term care home in Toronto, Ontario is an exciting new project that will be dedicated to enriching the lives of our future residents in partnership with UniversalCare, our family members, valued employees and community partners. Reporting to the Culinary Services Manager, the Culinary Services Supervisor position is a critical role with accountability for supporting the management and leadership of all operational activities within the dietary department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Graduate of an accredited Food Service Supervision/Nutrition Management Program.
· Current membership and a member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a Registered Dietician.
· Two years working experience in a managerial or supervisor capacity in dietary services, preferably long-term care.
· Sound knowledge of therapeutic diets, current nutritional standards relating to the geriatric population and the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021, Ontario Regulations 246/10.
· Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities are required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computerized documentation systems.
· All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector check.
· Have a passion to promote person-centered care and work with the senior population.

• Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the dietary department, ensuring those activities are aligned to the home’s strategic plan, mission and values.
• Supports recruitment, employee and labour relations, payroll and benefits, orientation, occupational and non-occupational injury/illness, performance management, training, education and other people related functions within the culinary department.
• Supports effective and efficient procurement and supply control procedures within the dietary department.
• Responds promptly to address dietary concerns of residents and family members, mediates appropriate responses to those concerns and implements action plans.
• Supports with menu development, monitors daily food preparation and reviews menus to ensure individual dietary needs of residents are met.
• Supports with he implementation and maintenance of quality risk management activities to reduce and control potential or actual risks to residents and/or for the home. * Provides coverage in the capacity of a Cook, as required.
• Maintains an organized system of records management for the culinary department.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation including but not limited to: Ministry Acts, regulations, policies and procedures, directives, and collective agreements.
• Works in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
