Job Description Preparing and serving three satisfying yet nutritious and well-balanced meals to a crew of 8-10 Maintaining galley, dining room and associated equipment in a sanitary condition Working in a safe and efficient manner following Ingram’s safety standards Providing adequate food for both meals and snacks Practicing good inventory and ordering procedures Preparing meals and storing foods in compliance with sanitary food handling practices Promoting a positive yet professional atmosphere in the galley Qualifications Possess a valid Driver’s License Possess or be willing to obtain a ServSafe certification Must be able to obtain required Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card by time of interview. Pass a post-offer process if an offer is made (background check, drug screen, physical) Have previous culinary or dietary work experience Be able to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds Be able to climb ladders, as well as be able to board and ride in a skiff to reach assigned vessel Have sufficient reasoning and mathematical abilities Be able to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form Have adequate computer skills to utilize email, vendor ordering and other programs Must be able to read and write the English language in order to comply with USCG regulatory requirements Demonstration of the Ingram Way Ability to uphold Ingram’s high safety standards Ability to work away from home for extended periods (21 or 28 day hitches) Ability to prepare a variety of meals – heavy repetition of meals should be avoided Ability to demonstrate teamwork and acceptance of diversity Ability to maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance Ability to respond quickly in an unexpected circumstance Demonstration of critical thinking and decision making skills Strong communication skills with all levels within the organization Additional Information Must have Culinary/Cooking Experience!!!
