This includes traveling to designated communities and working with the community culinary teams to assess and develop culinary programs designed to exceed resident satisfaction, comply with dietary and infection control rules and regulations, control expenses and coach and support team members.    What You’ll Do * Performs the functions of the Director of Culinary Services of a community should there be a vacancy in this position in order to allow adequate time to find a suitable replacement for the vacated position. May also be asked to assist in orientation and training the newly hired Director under the direction of the Area or Divisional Director of Culinary Services of that community. * Supports all assigned communities in managing all Culinary efforts for the building on a monthly basis. Manages daily expenses including labor, raw food and supply expenses in order to meet community budget Ensures that all checklists and reports are completed as required by Area Director, Divisional Director or other members of the Executive Management team. * Supports assigned communities in the screening, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and terminating culinary employees within their assigned community. This includes all areas of training that are required by the managing company, state federal jurisdictions, and upon individual need. * Supports maintaining a safe environment for all employees free from workplace hazard and harassment.  * Assists in ensuring that all employee evaluations are completed per policy of the managing company of assigned communities. This includes timely evaluations of all employees upon 90 days of employment, annual evaluations, and change of position evaluations. Ensures Performance Evaluations are a true reflection of the entire body of work for each employee since the last time an evaluation was completed and will set out employment growth and/or improvement issues. * Responsible for timely response to all resident, family, employee, community, and regulatory complaints. Encourages open communication in order to resolve issues, and update the involved parties on the status of their issues. Informs the managing company of complaints as required in policy. * Ensure compliance of all departmental meetings and training requirements as required. * Supports a collaborative effort with community sales and marketing, lifestyle and leisure and memory support teams. What We’re Looking For * High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred in Culinary Services  * Must have proven management experience and ability to manage staff. * Must have managed assisted living, memory care, and independent living communities totaling three years in duration. Minimum one year of experience in Health Care Industry in a supervisory role preferred. * Working knowledge of the Health Care Industry. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.  * Current Serv/Safe Certification required. * Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates. * Must meet all health requirements, including TB. * Must pass criminal background check. * Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
