Job Description Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort are looking for passionate and motivated culinary professionals to join our newly refurbished property. We have multiple roles available, including Commis Chef, Pastry Chef, and Kitchen Attendant, across full-time and part-time positions. About the Venue Newly refurbished, upscale hotel food & beverage operation Curated wine cellar featuring some of New Zealand’s finest wines Seasonal menu by Chef Gerhard Gerber, focused on seasonal NZ produce Available Roles 1. Commis Chef Full-time | AM & PM shifts (split shifts may be required) Assist with preparation and presentation of dishes across all kitchen sections Support smooth daily operations, maintain hygiene standards, and develop culinary skills 2. Pastry Chef Full-time | Must be available to work weekends Prepare, bake, and present pastries, desserts, and baked goods to high standards Assist in menu development and seasonal offerings while ensuring consistency and quality 3. Kitchen Attendant Part-time | Rotating roster, including evenings, weekends & public holidays Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance across all kitchen areas Support cooks with food prep, ingredient storage, and smooth daily operations Qualifications What We’re Looking For We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and team-oriented candidates who are passionate about hospitality. All applicants should have: A positive attitude and professional presentation Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays Working rights in New Zealand Role-Specific Preferences: 1. Commis Chef: Relevant cookery qualification (or international equivalent), experience in a similar role, ability to work under pressure 2. Pastry Chef: Proven experience in patisserie, dessert preparation, and high-quality baking; creativity and attention to detail 3. Kitchen Attendant: Tidy and well-presented, with an interest in learning basic culinary skills. Demonstrates strong organisational skills and reliable timekeeping.
