JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grow Technician to join our team. As a Grow Technician, you will be instrumental in the cultivation and maintenance of plants within our facility. Your role is crucial in ensuring the optimal growth, health, and productivity of plants while adhering to strict quality and compliance standards. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture. Also as to our size you will be required to help with other responsibilities like packaging etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Degree or certification in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Sciences, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in plant cultivation, preferably in a commercial or large-scale setting.
  • Knowledge of plant biology, growth cycles, and environmental factors affecting plant health.
  • G license.
  • Familiarity with cultivation techniques such as germination, pruning, harvesting, and so on.
  • Understanding of hydroponics and/or soil-based cultivation systems.
  • Ability to identify common plant pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Proficiency in maintaining cultivation equipment and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving industry.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects. Must be able to lift 25kg up to chest level, stand and/or be on your feet for long periods.
Responsibilities
  • Execute daily tasks related to plant cultivation, including planting, watering, pruning, and harvesting.
  • Monitor and maintain plant health by identifying and addressing pest infestations, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the growing area, including sterilization of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of plant growth, maintenance activities, and environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with the cultivation team to implement and follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Operate and maintain cultivation equipment, such as irrigation systems, lighting, and climate control systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of plant nutrition and feeding schedules.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate plant growth conditions to optimize yield, quality, and efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to cultivation techniques and technologies.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of cultivation processes through active participation in team meetings and sharing innovative ideas.
