Valid driver's license may be required with at least one year of clean driving history. Salary range is $77,000 - $90,000 with a bonus plan Relocation Assistance Available CANDIDATE PROFILE High school or equivalent education required. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Hawaiian Studies preferred. Experience in Hawaiian language and culture field preferred. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES • This position implements operational initiatives as it relates to the Hawaiian Culture. Must be able to engage and involve guest, owners and associates in sharing the knowledge of our Hawaiian culture. • Serve as immediate manager over daily operations, and as liaison for the Cultural Specialist staff. • Responsible for leading family cultural experience programs for complex properties, KOR and Nanea. • Interdepartmental collaboration with key stakeholders such as F&B, Activities and Marketing. • Coordinate and lead the planning and execution of cultural experiences and events; organize cultural experiences to include children & adult programs, special events, conference, recreation and holiday programs. • Attend daily internal Leadership operational meetings and scheduled guest-relations events such as signature events, and meetings such as Owner and HOA receptions and board meetings • Secondarily (on request, in absence of Cultural Advisor) welcome groups such as sales site inspections, special dignitary arrivals, and new hire orientation. • Oversee Pu‘uhonua Cultural Centers’ finances: Duties include scheduling effectively, accurately managing staffing guide and completing daily payroll edits. • Inventory & order department’s supplies. Manage checkbook, P&L and effectively articulate department’s finances in monthly, quarterly and annual budget and forecast meetings. Physical Requirements: • Most work tasks are performed in the Pu‘uhonua Cultural Centers on a year round basis • Position requires walking and giving direction; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and stocking tasks. • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
