The Curator, Interpretation communicates the history of Black Loyalists in Nova Scotia and the broader story of the Black Loyalists in North American for individuals, school groups and special interest groups. This is achieved through the delivery of guided tours, educational presentations, and some first-person interpretation. The Curator, Interpretation describes areas of interest in the museum and on the site, assists visitors, answers questions and provides historically accurate information about the experience of the Black Loyalist. This position also works closely with the Curator, Visitor Experience on the development, coordination and delivery of educational tours, presentations and programs.
The Black Loyalist Heritage Society (BLHS) is committed to maintaining a safe work environment and to protecting its employees and guests. The Curator, Interpretation will ensure that all current public health measures are adhered to according to Nova Scotia public health direction.
The Black Loyalist Heritage Centre and Site is a unionized workplace. Employees are represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU), under Local 1783.
