Description
M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong’s WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The museum reflects our unique time and place, building on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and the international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century. This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. You will be responsible for: assisting in general research related to exhibitions, publications, acquisitions and public programmes; performing administrative tasks relating to curatorial processes; creating, maintaining and updating data and image records of the M+ Collections, including those for exhibitions, publications and other displays; handling contacts and correspondence both internally and externally; and scheduling and organisation of meetings, preparation of meeting notes and minutes; assisting in routine operations and other special projects of M+; and performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by M+. You should: possess a recognised university degree or equivalent in Art History, Hong Kong studies, Cultural Studies, Cultural Anthropology, Twentieth-century History or other related disciplines; have minimum 2 to 3 years’ relevant working experience in other cultural or related organisations; be highly-organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently and co-operatively with others in a fast-paced environment; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
