CEPH Accreditation Management (40%)
- Coordinate with SPH leadership, faculty, and staff to manage accreditation requirements and compliance activities, including the self-study, for the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
- Monitor CEPH criteria compliance and updates, disseminating and explaining this information throughout SPH.
- Regularly update the competency database with curriculum changes related to required CEPH competencies.
- Communicate with CEPH regarding changes, questions, and/or circumstances requiring their input and clarity.
- Prepare and submit substantive change forms to CEPH when appropriate.
- Coordinate with the Associate Dean for Education to prepare and submit CEPH and ASPPH annual reports.
- Represent SPH in the ASPPH Data Group.
- Conduct quarterly syllabi and CEPH competency reviewsCurriculum Management (35%)
- Participate in the development of School of Public Health (SPH) policies and procedures related to curriculum through membership on the Curriculum and Education Policy Committee (CEPC).
- Manage and support the curriculum review and approval process for the SPH as a representative of the Office of the Dean. This includes curriculum (courses, programs, and degrees) additions, deletions, and changes through the UW curriculum management system.
- Serve as the main point of contact for CEPC, curriculum coordinators, and the Office of the Dean on the institutional curriculum submission, review, and approval processes.
- Orient department and program curriculum staff to SPH, CEPC, Graduate School, and UW Curriculum Office curricular procedures, including providing assistance with documentation to ensure successful execution of curricular updates.
- Evaluate the success of policies and practices while proactively engaging, collaborating, and communicating with stakeholders as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison to departments and programs concerning the decisions made by the CEPC. This includes communicating upcoming programmatic changes to appropriate SPH student services and curriculum staff.
- Communicate with departments regarding upcoming deadlines related to CEPC and the UW Curriculum Office.
- Manage the monthly meetings and annual retreat of CEPC. Responsibilities include scheduling, creating the agenda, taking meeting minutes, updating the curriculum management tool, gathering and managing resources and documents, and communications post-meeting.
- Track status of curriculum-related approvals from the UW Curriculum Office to applicable SPH stakeholders to identify roadblocks.
- Schedule, plan, and facilitate quarterly meetings for SPH curriculum coordinators.
- Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information from SPH faculty.Operations and Administration (25%)
- Maintain and regularly update the Teaching Support WordPress site, SPH Curriculum and Educational Policy and Procedures Manual, and the SPH syllabus template.
- Ensure the collection of all SPH course syllabi each quarter and assessing all syllabi each quarter for content and consistency.
- Support the efforts of the Washington Public Health Academic Learning Collaborative by attending meetings, assisting with planning and scheduling, and keeping accurate notes and documentation.
- Support ongoing schoolwide meetings (e.g., CEPC, Program Directors and Managers, and Curriculum Coordinators) as assigned to include supporting committee chair(s) via thought partnership, drafting and publishing meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes to record decisions made by committees, posting/providing meeting materials on SharePoint sites, scheduling meetings, and producing printed materials for meetings when appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the administration of processes and systems that support the charge of any additional ad-hoc committees or working groups related to curriculum and accreditation.
- Collaborate with appropriate staff and faculty to maintain the UW Course and Degree Catalogs, the SPH web site, and other portals with curriculum information.
- Manage Time Schedule and Add Codes for PHI 500.
- Manage process improvement efforts, including developing, documenting, and maintaining written policy and procedures related to the operational functions of the position.
- Other duties as appropriate, including special projects or initiatives assigned by the supervisor.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Education or related field, plus 3+ years of experience working in academic affairs, curriculum, accreditation, and/or higher education administration.EQUIVALENT EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE WILL SUBSTITUTE FOR ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXCEPT WHEN THERE ARE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS, SUCH AS A LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
