THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tetra Tech is adding a Curriculum Developer Assistant to support the Department of Defense/Irregular Warfare Center Support Services team based in Arlington, Virigina.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Curriculum Developer Assistant will support the development and refinement of irregular warfare (IW) training programs by assisting with curriculum design, course material preparation, and instructional methodology enhancements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in instructional design, training development, and military education. The Curriculum Developer Assistant will work alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructors to ensure training materials align with DoD education standards and operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in Education, National Security, International Relations, or related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, training, or defense education.
  • Experience instructing DoD personnel and international military professionals with a concentration on irregular warfare.
  • Familiarity with DoD training methodologies and learning management systems.
  • Experience developing tailored curricula and training modules to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience identifying training gaps and educational shortfalls through the assessment of existing curricula.
  • Strongly familiarity with subject matter encompassing IW strategies, campaigns, and assessments, SOCEUR Resistance Operating Concept (ROC), resilience, NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ) Comprehensive Defense Handbooks, etc.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to adapt training content based on current operational trends.
  • Understanding of AI/ML technology and “big data,” highly desirable.
  • Experience working in joint, interagency, or multinational training environments.
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, revising, and maintaining IW curriculum tailored to DoD, interagency, and allied personnel including for courses such as Transformational Irregular Warfare Leaders Thought Course (TILT-C); National Resilience or Resistance Course (NRAC); and Comprehensive Defense Applications Course (CDAC).
  • Support instructional design efforts, ensuring training materials align with adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Conduct research to integrate emerging trends, lessons learned, and doctrinal updates into training modules.
  • Develop training assessments, evaluations, and performance metrics to ensure curriculum effectiveness.
  • Assist instructors with course delivery, student engagement, and learning outcome tracking.
  • Collaborate with DoD, interagency, and international partners to tailor content to diverse audiences.
  • Identify and translate gaps in IW education and training into the IWC-specific and sponsored curriculum.
  • Manage, prioritize, and resource IWC research.
