Description

The Curriculum Manager – Academy Programs is responsible for designing and developing meaningful, developmentally appropriate curriculum content for both Worcester Cultural Academy (WCA) and Old Sturbridge Academy (OSA). This role ensures that all educational experiences align with grade-level standards and leverage the unique resources of Old Sturbridge Village (OSV). The Curriculum Manager collaborates closely with teachers, instructors, and departments across OSV to create impactful and engaging learning opportunities.
Reports To: Assistant Director of Academy Programs

Key Duties & Responsibilities:Curriculum Development

  • Develop WCA curriculum content that is meaningful, developmentally appropriate, and maximizes Village-to-grade level curriculum/standards connections.
  • Develop Learning Team (LT) curriculum content that is meaningful, developmentally appropriate, and maximizes Village-to-grade level curriculum/standards connections.

Collaboration & Program Design

  • Collaborate with WCA teachers to design WCA-OSV visits that align with classroom learning.
  • Collaborate with OSA teachers to develop field experiences that meaningfully integrate Village resources with their curriculum.
  • Connect and collaborate with departments across OSV to support WCA sessions and ensure cross-functional alignment.

Instructional Modeling & Support

  • Model best instructional practices for School Program Instructors (SPIs) by teaching regularly-assigned classes
  • Provide substitute teaching support as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least five years’ classroom teaching and/or curriculum writing experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Adaptable and able to pivot quickly when needed
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups
  • Reliable and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Can create a supportive student-centered learning experience
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft365 and Google Suite
  • Passion for experiential and place-based learning

Salary: $21-$23/hour
Part time; 25-40 hours/week, year-round
