The new School of Conservation Futures (SCF) is seeking a Curriculum Support Manager to help develop and manage innovative academic programs and courses. The ideal candidate is an engaged, strategic, motivated leader, project manager who is excited to help launch new academic programs and is comfortable collaborating with faculty, student success teams, and leadership.
The SCF Curriculum Support Manager is responsible for understanding the school’s curriculum and managing a number of curriculum-related responsibilities, including curriculum development, program assessment, teaching and course schedules, hiring and onboarding of instructional support, and curricular budgets. Many of the essential duties must occur every session of every semester. This position requires a very detail-oriented team member who enjoys a balance of repetitive work and helping with new initiatives.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with courses and curriculum in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of undergraduate and graduate curriculum, curricular policies and procedures in higher education.
  • Experience with software and tools such as PeopleSoft, Ad Astra, Kuali, Salesforce, Google Suite, Airtable, Dropbox, Slack, MS Office (e.g., Outlook and Excel in particular), Analytics, and Adobe.
  • Experience with meeting deadlines, utilizing project management skills and establishing priorities.
  • Evidence of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with data analysis, enrollment projections, and understanding budget implications.
  • Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Evidence of working effectively in a collaborative environment subject to changing priorities, tight cyclical deadlines and potentially conflicting outcomes.
  • Evidence of being detail-oriented, skilled at multi-tasking, enjoying puzzles and problem solving, and making decisions in line with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
  • Manage processes related to curriculum development in line with ASU’s Academic Planning Cycle, Office of the University Provost, and Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) requirements. Track, submit, and support approval processes for various types of curricular proposals and forms that run through Kuali, ASU’s Curriculum Management system.
  • Facilitate program assessment processes, working closely with faculty, the College of Global Futures, and the University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE).
  • In coordination with school leadership, support the development and maintenance of a multi-year teaching plan, supporting decision-making processes that identify gaps and determine which courses need to be offered when, how they should be scheduled, and who is teaching them.
  • Support school leadership in onboarding faculty associates (FAs), academic associates (AAs), and graduate student teaching assistants (TAs) to support course needs, leading the process of hiring them and serving as main point of contact for them, connecting them to resources available to support their teaching.
  • Managing budgets for program fee, course revenue, and instructional costs.
  • Course scheduling and tasks associated with the delivery of courses:
  • Schedule new courses and maintain the course schedule each semester in Peoplesoft, Identify issues (e.g., gaps in teaching coverage and enrollment issues), ask questions, and help resolve issues that arise, Designate classroom preferences for courses in AdAstra, Monitor courses for low enrollment and courses that are full, Serve as the point of contact for and support textbook ordering and uploading syllabi, Coordinate with the Registrar’s Office on reserved capacity groups that are needed, Pull course-related reports (i.e., the schedule of classes and rosters) from Peoplesoft, Analytics, and other data analysis tools, Input instructor class funding (ICF) into PeopleSoft each semester (reporting which instructors and units receive credit/funding for courses listed under the schools’ prefixes.
  • Roster contact/grade posting role: help support faculty and instructors with academic status reports and grade posting; support the grade change process; and provide grade reports.
  • Coordinate course evaluation processes: serve as a point of contact; communicate key information about the process; help set course evaluations semester/session; and create/share reports.
  • Meet regularly with program committees to support program development and changes, providing key information and resources needed.
  • Other related duties:
  • Schedule conference room and classroom space for courses and special events, Analyzing curriculum data and providing reports, Frequently communicate with administrators, instructors, advisors, instructional design team, and other course schedulers via phone, email, and in person, Other Duties as assigned.
