Custodial Supervisor - JEB Little Creek - Virginia Beach, VA - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking a full-time Custodial Supervisor to assist the Project Manager, Custodial Services, in ensuring that all contract specifications are met. Involves performing and supervising all aspects of custodial maintenance in a multi-building complex to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation: * Oversee day-to-day custodial operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements * Manage work schedules, allocate tasks, and ensure timely completion of all custodial duties * Ensure a safe working environment by training employees in safety protocols * Routinely inspect machinery and other property for potential hazards * Report any incidents or accidents as required by company policy and regulatory standards * Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock soap and paper products * Supervise and work as a team with others to ensure efficient operation * Complete and maintain documentation to comply with regulatory and contractual requirements * Ensure all records are accurate and up to date * Train and provide limited guidance to crew members on custodial procedures * Attend in-service training courses and meetings when requested * Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including buffers, shampoo/extractor machines, and power washers * Drive to transport employees and/or equipment to assigned buildings * Perform other duties as assigned Note: Duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change at any time, with or without notice. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE: The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully: * Related job experience providing custodial services * Proven experience in custodial services, with a preference for experience in a supervisory role * Effective oral and written communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English * Clearance through criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening is required * Acceptable driving record required PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical demands: Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee: * Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form * Must be able to exert considerable effort, frequently lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching, and squatting * Must be able to stand for four or more hours Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily indoors, going outdoors on occasion, and may be exposed to dust, dirt, mold, and various cleaning solvents; the employee will also work outside of the office, walking or traveling to different sites of the Naval Base or other designated locations.  Must be able to withstand extremes of temperature and noise level.
