    The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Custodial Technology Support Officer to provide a critical role within Digital Operations Unit (DOU).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • A relevant qualification in Information Computer Technology or industry qualification and/or relevant industry experience would be highly desirable.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Projects Officer, Operations, the role is responsible for daily administration of Connect tasks including processing of electronic forms, security audits, educating of staff and people in custody in the use of the Connect and other support tasks.
This position will be required to work on site at the Barwon Prisons Precinct with requirements to also support other prison locations as required. This will include assisting with Western Plains Correctional Centre be Connect ready. Flexible work arrangements are available in accordance with DJCS policy.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with staff, prisoners, and other service providers in the delivery of an integrated, whole of justice approach to reducing re-offending.
  • A sound knowledge of the Information Technology portfolio within prisons.
  • Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience and skill in areas relevant to correctional delivery, and the Correctional Practice Framework.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing support in an IT environment with sound troubleshooting skills
  • Provisioning and supporting a wide range of end-user computing hardware, including but not limited to laptops, monitors, tablets, and meeting rooms
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to express opinions, information, and key points clearly and concisely via effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situation
