Description Summary/Objective The custodian position maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe. Essential Functions Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms Ensures toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers are properly filled Cleans lunchrooms Cleans, mops, washes, buffs, and vacuums floors Empties trash Maintains outside areas by picking up debris Removes recycling materials Cleans windows Dusts furniture, sideboards, etc. as needed Helps monitor cleaning supplies and ensure supply closets remain organized Completes various cleaning tasks as requested by the supervisor Competencies Thoroughness Time Management Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. At times, fumes from burnt plastic may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. Physical Demands The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. It is possible the employee will need to stoop, kneel, or crouch down. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 35 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work There are two options for this role: Option 1: Work 4-5 hours on 2nd shift and/or a split between 2nd and 3rd shift Option 2: Work an 8-hour 2nd shift - 4 hours as a press operator, 4 hours as a janitor Travel No travel is required for this position. The salary range for this position is: $17.00 - $19.00. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
