Description
Description The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Custodian/Event Set Up Personnel. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodian performs daily and/or nightly duties as communicated by the on-duty supervisor: Director of Facilities, Facilities and Event Set Up Manager, the Maintenance Worker, or Custodial Event Set Up Supervisor. Requirements Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules. Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks. Assure maintenance and cleaning of engraved bricks. Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibits repairs. Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed. Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Facilities Manager or the Custodial Supervisor. Perform general cleaning of assigned areas daily. This can and will consist of cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and cleaning of all glass on site. Follow the direction of supervisor on duty while assisting in event rental set up. Event set up consists of breaking down and transporting of tables and chairs to designated areas. Qualifications Physical ability to perform manual work. Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work. Familiarity with cleaning procedures. Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment. Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful. Regular and reliable attendance. Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
