JOB SUMMARY:

The custodian works in cooperation with the program Director or the Director’s designee to maintain a safe and clean facility in accordance with all licensing regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma.
  • Must possess effective comprehension and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs
  • Effective oral and written English skills preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of the facility in accordance to Board of Education, Office of Licensing, and National Association for the Education of Young Children requirements.
  • Adhere to the NAEYC Cleaning & Sanitation Frequency Table.
  • Properly use and maintain all supplies in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Clean & sanitize all bathroom floors, sinks, and toilets according to schedule and as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize classroom and office equipment as needed including moving furniture as required. Clean & remove trash from classrooms, offices, hallways, staff room, food service area, etc. according to schedule and as needed.
  • Maintain program grounds ensuring they are free of debris.
  • Assist with delivery of supplies to classrooms/office.
  • Assist with food delivery from the kitchen to food prep areas and classrooms.
  • Set-up/break-down furniture and additional equipment for special programmatic activities.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on all building furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Complete monthly inspection as stated in CFCS Facility Maintenance Report.
  • Inform Director or Director’s designee of any concerns with the interior or exterior of the facility.
  • Assist with implementation of Emergency Operation Plan and monthly safety drills.
  • Assist in maintaining COVID health and safety cleaning requirements
  • Carry out additional tasks as requested by the Program Director, Director’s Designee.
  • Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities.
